Each unit has its own staff, its own fields, tennis courts and swimming docks. Units overlap by a year, so a boy joins the one that fits his experience and his friends.

  • Graduates can become staff without more training.
  • About 80% of Winona staff return each year.
  • Living with lifelong friends, in the place where life exists as it should.

Every camper belongs to a color team, Red or Gray, for all his years at Winona. The two compete all summer, and the winner of the most points decides the color of next year's banner. The outcome is not known until Awards Night.

  • Dirigo Ravens
  • Mountain Hawks
  • Ocean Osprey
  • Swift Falcons
  • Squadrons began in 2021. Like the color teams, a camper keeps his Squadron for life.
